Biography

Dr. Zhu is a Full Professor at College of Computer Science and Engineering, Chongqing University of Technology. Prior to that, he was a postdoctoral fellow at L3S Research Center, Leibniz Universität Hannover (德国汉诺威大学L3S研究中心), working with Professor Wolfgang Nejdl from Jul. 2012 to Jan. 2016. He received his PhD degree from Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (中国科学院计算技术研究所), under supervision of Prof. Xueqi Cheng in Jun. 2012.

His research interests includes Information Retrieval, Web Mining, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. He has published many papers in top-tier Conferences and Journals, such as SIGIR, CIKM, WWW, TKDE, etc, and won the Best Paper Awards of CIKM2011 for the work “Intent-Aware Query Similarity”. He served as Area Chair of CIKM2020 and CCIR2020, Session Chair of CCFBigdata2019, and PC member for a number of top-tier Conferences, such as AAAI, SIGIR, COLING, etc. Currently, Prof. Dr. Zhu is the Vice Director of Chongqing Engineering Research Center for Computer Vision Intelligent Technology, the grantee of “Specially-Recruited Experts of Chongqing (重庆市特聘专家)”, and “100 Talents Recruitment Program of Chongqing (重庆市百名海外高层次人才集聚计划人选)”.
